The Earnest Institute for the Gifted, Hyperactive and Talented in Kingston now boasts a solar energy system, thanks to a donation. Sun Plus Limited commissioned the system at the school on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Dionne Gayle, Assistant Chief Education Officer for the Special Needs Unit in the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information, attended the commissioning. Natasha Russell, Principal of the Earnest Institute for the Gifted, Hyperactive and Talented, was also present. Michelle Thomas Nelson, Attorney, represented Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Andrew Swaby at the event. Javon Harris, Founder/Director of Sun Plus Limited, oversaw the donation.
