Police fatally shot Jhezde Christie at the Sun Coast Beach Club in Bull Bay, St Thomas. The incident occurred as police attempted to execute a warrant for a wanted man.
Investigation Details
INDECOM is investigating the shooting. According to police reports, they were fired upon and returned fire. Following the incident, police seized a Ruger 9mm pistol. The target of the warrant escaped. The Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch is also investigating the matter. Sources close to the investigation referenced ""serious offenses”."
Community Reaction
A resident of Bull Bay expressed surprise at the incident, stating "“Nothing nah gwan a Bull Bay, so mi a seh, ‘A who a fire dem shot deh?’ “A when the morning light, we a get to understand that a police and man inna shoot-out. What is more shocking is that a over Sun Coast,”" Sun Coast Beach Club is a residential complex developed by businessman Kevin Frith.
