Jamaica is sending three relay teams to the inaugural Barbados Grand Prix to secure qualification for the World Athletics Championships. The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association is managing the teams' participation in the event.
Barbados Grand Prix
The Barbados Grand Prix will take place on July 5 at the Usain Bolt Stadium. Jamaica plans to compete in the women’s 4x100m, men’s 4x100m, and 4x400m mixed relay events.
Team Composition
The women’s 4x100m team includes Jodean Williams, Krystal Sloley, Jonielle Smith, and Serena Cole. Competing in the men’s 4x100m relay are Kadrian Goldson, Adrian Kerr, Bouwahgie Nkrumie, and Odain McPherson. Roneisha McGregor, Shanakaye Anderson, Jeremy Bembridge, and Bovel McPherson will make up the 4x400m mixed relay team.
Team Management
Brian Smith will serve as the team manager, while Paul Francis will be the head coach. Lamar Richards is the assistant coach, and Jowayne Johnson will serve as the massage therapist for the delegation. The teams seek to qualify after missing automatic qualification at the World Relays.
