The Bob & Rita Marley Foundations donated $500,000 to Netball Jamaica, marking the Foundations’ first sponsorship of a netball training camp. The donation will bolster the Jamaica under-21 Sunshine Girls’ preparation for the 2025 Netball World Youth Cup.

Supporting the Sunshine Girls

The under-21 team trains intensively through local leagues and a dedicated summer camp, which runs through July. The donation provides assistance with nutritional supplements, injury prevention items, household necessities, and game footwear.

Cedella Marley, CEO of THE BOB & Rita Marley Foundations, said,

“Supporting our young women through sport is one of the most powerful ways we can invest in the future of Jamaica. Netball is more than just a game; it teaches discipline, teamwork, resilience, and pride. We are proud to stand with these incredible athletes as they chase their dreams and carry the hopes of a nation.”

Annett Daley is the head coach of the under-21 team, while Nardia Hanson serves as the assistant coach. The 2025 Netball World Youth Cup is scheduled for September 19-28 in Gibraltar.

Commitment to Community

The Marley foundations recently completed a $4.5-million multi-surface court at the Trench Town Community Centre.
